First

Booking into a hotel in Paramatta Sydney is a better idea than going straight into one of the big cities which will always be overcrowded with tourists. Despite its size, Paramatta is a suburb of Sydney and was the second location in Australia that was settled by the British. The first settlers chose Paramatta in 1789, for its fertile farmland.

The River

There are plenty of parks and buildings that were first constructed by the early settlers. There is also a beautiful river that can be explored at your leisure.

Pubs and Bars

If you are looking for a good old-fashioned bar or pub, Paramatta has you covered. All within walking distance from Parkroyal Paramatta, or any other hotel you may be staying at.

Farmers Market

For a good understanding of local culture, you can visit the Farmer’s Market that has been an ongoing tradition on Saturdays since 1791. You can buy all kinds of things there.

Lake Paramatta

There is also the lake if you want to spend a day outdoors exploring the wild. Lake Paramatta is a nature reserve and a great place for a walk and a picnic.
