Oman is a land of Arabian wonders when it comes to historic monuments. The Khasab Castle is yet another relic of history that still stands today in its majestic splendour.

A bit of history

Ask your local hotel such as Al Falaj Hotel and Khasab Castle is sure to be a recommendation. It is not known when the ancient fort was actually built. The current building you see today is what the Portuguese constructed in the 17th century over the original.

Salvage from war

In the yard of the castle, you will come to find 3 old boats that originated from the village of Kamzar. There are several old cannons displayed here as well.

The exhibits

There is so much to see and learn when you observe the exhibits in the castle. You’ll come across old jewellery, kitchen items, clothes, weaponry and much more to explore. It is certainly one of the best things to do in Muscat.
