With the sheer number of attractions and mesmerising sights in Dubai, it is likely impossible to explore them all in a single day. But if you find yourself with 24 hours to spare in the city, there are still plenty of ways to make the most of your time there. Here are some of the key areas and sites you can visit to explore the essence of the city in a single day.

Dubai Souqs

You can spend your morning visiting the various souqs and shops that sell some of the region’s best items. Most of the city’s souqs can be found at Bur Dubai which is easily accessible if you are staying at any of the hotel suites in Dubai. Make sure to visit the spice souqs, perfume souqs and gold souqs to get a unique feel for the city’s best items.

Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood

From Bur Dubai, you can venture into Dubai’s oldest district which dates back to the early 1900s. Exploring the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is like walking back in time through narrow cobblestoned streets and past old wind towers and black coral houses. You can also visit the Al Fahidi Historical Museum to learn more about the city’s history and way of life.

Burj Khalifa

Although you’re in Dubai for a day, making time to visit the world’s tallest building is a must. You can go all the way to the observation deck at the top to witness the most stunning views of the city’s landscape and horizon. The best time to be up there is from around 3.30 to 6.30 pm when you can witness amazing sunset views and even choreographed displays from the world’s largest water fountain.
