Just a few minutes drive away from the Bandaranaike International Airport, Negombo is a beautiful fishing town known as “Little Rome”. It is home to several 17th-century forts and churches, giving it an old-world feel. This colonial beach town is the perfect place to get rid of jet lag and get into vacation mode. Many hotels in Negombo are situated overlooking the blue ocean such as the Amagi Aria; listen to the waves and just relax sipping mimosas, watching sunsets.

Kandy

Kandy is known for being the home of the Temple Of The Sacred Tooth Relic, which is unquestionably the most famous of all Sri Lankan temples. Kandy also has a number of noteworthy museums and beautiful sites. Kandy was also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Artifacts linked to Buddhism, Kandy, and colonial rule may be seen at the World Buddhist Museum, National Museum of Kandy, and Sri Dalada Museum. You can also visit Kandy Lake and the Udawattekele.

Ella

Ella is a lovely town in Sri Lanka’s Uva Province, located in the Badulla district. Ella, Sri Lanka’s pride, has spectacular views of the valleys, tea plantations, and cafés, as well as a nice environment throughout the year. The town is most known for its unique nine-arched railway bridge, which is an excellent example of a colonial-era Sri Lankan building. A favorite pastime is walking down the railway track to the bridge, especially around the time the train comes. For a relaxing escape, there are various charming cafés, walking routes, and guest homes set in the hills.

Arugam Bay

Arugam Bay is known as a surfer’s paradise because of the numerous surfing locations distributed around the area for both beginners and experienced surfers. If you don’t want to surf, you may relax on the gorgeous beaches. The beaches hold several beach parties at night, providing an opportunity to soak up the vibrant ambiance. You may also sample native food and go on lagoon safaris, where you can see elephants and crocodiles, both of which are highlights of this beach town.
