Record Breaker

Located in the heart of Dubai’s downtown area, the Burj Khalifa is a whopping 829.8 metres high, making it the tallest building in the globe. It boasts 163 floors and the highest floor of the tower can be reached via one of the fifty-seven lifts available at the venue. The highest point of the building boasts an altitude of 638 metres and the design of the structure is a combination of three buildings that are organised around a central axis.

Composition

The floors at the bottom of the Burj Khalifa contain a hotel while the remainder of the building is made up of high-end apartments and corporate offices of some of the world’s biggest companies.

Construction Period and Cost

Built between 2004 and 2010, the building was first opened to the public on the 4th of January 2010. The cost of building the Burj Khalifa is believed to be no less than 1.5 billion US dollars.

Taking in the Views

Travellers based at Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai or any other luxury hotel in Dubai can take in the panoramic views available at the Burj Khalifa from one of two observation decks. The first observation hub is located on the 124th floor and is named “At the Top” while the deck on the 148th floor is called “Burj Khalifa Sky” and is located 555 metres above the ground. Visitors must purchase tickets to have access to both decks.
