What is Angor Wat?
The Angor Wat is a temple and is the crown jewel of the entire Angor Wat Archaeological Park, which is named after it. This was originally built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II in honour of the Hindu deity, Vishnu. However, about 3 centuries later, it was converted into a Buddhist temple and is now an emblem of Theravada Buddhists in the country.
