If you’re looking for an island with the perfect mix of luxury together with nature, then Sir Bani Yas Island is what you’re looking for. Here’s a little more information!
The History
Sir Bani Yas Island is one of the few natural islands in the region of Abu Dhabi. During the Cambrian Period, salt deposits from the sea formed a dome which was later combined with limestone and sandstone to become the island it is today. Evidence of human activity on the island dates back to around 5500 BC. In 1940, the natural water supply dried up and the island tribes moved into the mainland.
Getting to the Island
If you have placed a booking at one of the three Abu Dhabi luxury hotels on the island, the likes of Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villas, there are plenty of ways in which you can get there. As the island is a part of the Al Gharbia region, you can reach the island directly through boat or plane. Seaplanes to the island are also available.
The Animals
Home to over 13,000 animals, Sir Bani Yas Island is ideal for wildlife and animal enthusiasts. Mountain sheep, antelopes, Arabian Oryx, cheetahs, striped Hyenas, and over 200 bird species and so much more await!
