Its fast-paced lifestyle and busy streets attract all the attention, but there’s much more to Hong Kong, hidden away in tranquil places where no one thinks to look.

Nan Lian Garden
Nan Lian Garden is one such gem that promises the ultimate peaceful experience. Filled with vibrant greenery, this Chinese garden offers the perfect nature getaway in the middle of the city.
Where Is It?
Sandwiched between Diamond Hill and the Chuk Yuen Estate, Nan Lian Garden is in Kowloon. You can easily get here by the MRT. From Dorsett Mongkok Hong Kong, which is a popular family hotel in Hong Kong, the garden is less than 15 minutes away.
History
Opened in 2006, Nan Lian Garden isn’t a very old garden. However, its design reflects the Tang dynasty’s architectural style. The goal of establishing the garden in the middle of all the city chaos is to promote Chinese heritage and provide a tranquil oasis.
Things to Do
Nan Lian Garden isn’t a place where you come to do things; relaxation is the goal here. You can walk through the trails filled with greenery and admire ponds and other elements of Chinese architecture. Bring your camera; there will be plenty of photo opportunities. Also, give yourself at least an hour or two to fully explore the garden.
